Wellington Heat season ends with loss to San Diego Waves

first_imgThis photo has been circulating across the Internet where the Heat and Waves players meet round home plate to pay tribute to Kaiser Carlile.Sumner Newscow report — In the scope of things it didn’t really matter, but the Wellington Heat lost to the San Diego Waves 5-3 to end their run in the 81st National Baseball Congress World Series at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wellington.The tragedy of Kaiser Carlile, a 9-year-old Liberal Bee Jay bat boy who died Sunday after being struck in the head with a swing near the on-deck circle during a NBC World Series game Saturday, has engulfed the NBC World Series.Wellington Heat and San Diego Waves players gathered around home plate to pay tribute to Carlile.As far far as the game went, San Diego built a 5-1 lead in the first two innings en route to victory. Taylor Bridges was the losing pitcher. This marked the second consecutive year San Diego has eliminated the Heat.Heat actually out-hit the Waves in his game with 8 hits to San Diego’s 5.
