Požega-Slavonia County received 23 new bicycle guides

first_imgThe Tourist Board of Požega-Slavonia County has implemented the first of a total of three parts of the cyclotourism development project in Požega-Slavonia County. In the first phase, training for bicycle guides was held by the development agency from Pazin IRTA doo, after which Požega-Slavonia County received a new 23 for bicycle guides. Each of the participants received a certificate from the Croatian Cycling Federation that they can lead groups of cyclists in our county and beyond. The other two parts of the project according to the Operational Plan for Cyclotourism Development of Požega-Slavonia County are in the final phase: Development of a bicycle map of Požega-Slavonia County and “Inclusion of cycling routes and tourist content of Požega-Slavonia County in the project Croatia bike routes” which should be completed until the end of 2018, they point out from the Tourist Board of Požega-Slavonia County. The operational plan for the development of cycling tourism in Požega-Slavonia County, as well as all bike trails and the offer can be viewed hereEven if the whole cycling tourism story were developed in synergy at the level of the entire destination Slavonia, it would be a strategic development. This way we have 5 counties and 5 different tourism products, as well as cycling stories. This, as well as many other trainings, were to be held at the level of the entire region of Slavonia. This is more so in the case of cycling tourism, where the average and recreational cyclist travels 30 kilometers by bicycle and in one day travels from one county to another by bicycle. This is another practical proof of how the whole of Slavonia should be developed and branded through one brand – Slavonia.last_img read more

How will MLB Draft picks work in 2020? Explaining the format changes for shortened baseball draft

first_imgSlot values for the draft are still in place from 2019, with the 3.5 percent increase tabled between MLB and the MLBPA, reflecting on the increase in MLB revenue. Now, with just five rounds, players originally slotted for six figures getting a potential $20,000 payday instead. Here’s what you need to know about this year’s draft:MORE: What to know about the 2020 MLB DraftHow will the MLB Draft work in 2020?The coronavirus has drastically altered the way the 2020 MLB Draft will work. While the format remains largely unchanged, the amount of rounds has been cut from 40 to just five.Because there are just five rounds to this year’s draft, teams will be able to sign an unlimited amount of free agents at a maximum of $20,000 per player. Players who were originally slated to make six figures between rounds six through 10 will be getting significantly less up front, with other potential draft picks slipping through the cracks.Dates: Wednesday, June 10 (Round 1, Competitive Balance Round A) and Thursday, June 11 (remainder of draft)Start times: 7 p.m. ET (Wednesday), 5 p.m. ET (Thursday)TV channels: ESPN, MLB Network (Round 1) | ESPN2, MLB Network (Remainder of draft)The first round of the draft features just 29 picks, with the Astros penalized a pick as punishment for their 2017 sign-stealing scandal. The second round features 23 picks, with the Red Sox and Astros forfeiting picks as part of sign-stealing punishments and the Yankees, Braves, Diamondbacks, Phillies and Angels docked picks for signing qualified free agents. There are still assigned slot values through the five-round draft, with a team able to sign an unlimited amount of undrafted free agents to a maximum of $20,000 per player. For full slot values for all five rounds’ worth of picks, click here.Per usual, the draft order is determined by reverse regular-season standings from the previous year. The Tigers have the No. 1 overall pick, the second time in three years they have that selection.Where will the 2020 MLB Draft be held?As part of the draft’s big changes in 2020, the draft was originally moved from MLB Network studios in Secaucus, N.J. to Omaha, Neb., the site of the College World Series. Participating CWS were invited to the Holland Performing Arts Center in Omaha.Unfortunately, amidst the coronavirus pandemic, the plans have changed, with MLB holding a virtual draft similar to what the NFL did with the 2020 NFL Draft. Akin to the NFL Draft, all MLB GMs and club officials will be shown from wherever they’re working with live camera cut-ins. Select players will also be attending virtually for the draft, most of which are expected to go in the first round. If the NFL draft was any indication, should things go as expected, there will be minimal glitches with the procedures. Typically, the picks during the MLB Draft were made during a conference call including executives from all 30 teams, so teams should be able to adapt easily. From Omaha to living rooms, the MLB Draft is going on as planned. There are many changes coming to the 2020 MLB Draft, most of those changes due to the coronavirus pandemic that has stopped the sport globally. The most forward-facing change to the draft is the amount of rounds dwindled from 40 to five. What are Competitive Balance Picks? At the end of the first round and the second round, teams who are either a recipient of revenue sharing or one of the 10 smallest revenue pools receive an extra pick. Certain formulas that include winning percentage and revenue determine who receives a Competitive Balance Round A pick while the remainder receive picks between the second and third rounds. How will players attend the 2020 MLB Draft? In years past, minimal players have typically attended the MLB Draft, but that was expected to change with the scenery shift to Nebraska, a more centralized location, the week before the College World Series was originally supposed to be scheduled. As of now, there are 23 announced potential first-round picks virtually attending the draft, with 26 confirmed attendees in total.PlayerPositionSchoolMick AbelRHPJesuit High School (Oregon)Patrick BaileyCNC StateTanner BurnsRHPAuburnCade CavalliRHPOklahomaSlade CecconiRHPUniversity of MiamiPete Crow-ArmstrongOFHarvard-Westlake High School (California)Reid DetmersLHPLouisvilleNick GonzalesSS/2BNew Mexico StateRobert HassellOFIndependence High School (Tennessee)Austin HendrickOFWest Allegheny High School (Pennsylvania)Ed HowardSSMount Carmel High School (Illinois)Jared KelleyRHPRefugio High School (Texas)Heston KjerstadOFArkansasAsa LacyLHPTexas A&MNick LoftinSSBaylorAustin MartinOF/3BVanderbiltMax MeyerRHPMinnesotaGarrett MitchellOFUCLACarmen MlodzinskiRHPSouth CarolinaTyler SoderstromCTurlock High School (California)Spencer Torkelson1BArizona StateZac VeenOFSpruce Creek High School (Florida)Austin WellsCArizonalast_img read more

Ex-England captain Terry retires from football

first_imgNow the Birmingham club reportedly want him to join their coaching staff as part of a new-look set-up, with Thierry Henry in the running to take over as manager at Villa Park after Steve Bruce was sacked earlier this week.“After 23 incredible years as a footballer, I have decided now is the right time to retire from playing,” Terry said in a message posted on his Instagram account.Terry, capped 78 times by England, recently rejected a chance to play for Spartak Moscow, saying a move to Russia was not right for his family. His last game as a professional was Villa’s 1-0 Championship play-off final defeat by Fulham in May — a loss that denied Villa a return to the Premier League. But his club career will be best remembered for his time at Chelsea where he won five Premier League titles, five FA Cups, as well as the Champions League and Europa League, although he did not play in the two European finals.– ‘Best decision’ –“As a 14-year-old, I made my best and biggest decision: to sign for Chelsea Football Club,” added Terry, who also thanked his family for their support.“Words will never be enough to show how much everyone at the club means to me, in particular the fans…I hope I have done you all proud wearing the shirt and the armband.”John Terry in action for Chelsea, the club he represented for most of his career © AFP / OLLY GREENWOODHe also referenced his time at Villa by saying: “It was a privilege to represent such a renowned football club with great fans.“I look forward to the next chapter in my life and the challenges ahead.”Terry made 717 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 67 goals, and was widely regarded as one of the best English centre-halves of his generation. But in 2011 he was accused of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand, the brother of Terry’s England central defensive partner Rio Ferdinand, during a west London derby against Queens Park Rangers.Terry was absolved of criminal charges during a 2012 court case. But the Football Association, who had stripped Terry of the England captaincy while they waited for the case to be resolved, subsequently imposed a four-game ban and fine on the defender. The decision by the FA, English football’s governing body, to pursue disciplinary action after the court case led to Terry’s retirement from international football.Meanwhile Terry was widely ridiculed when, after Chelsea beat Bayern Munich to win the 2012 Champions League final, he appeared in full playing kit for the post-match celebrations despite not taking part in the game because of suspension.0Shares0000(Visited 1 times, 1 visits today) 0Shares0000Terry captained Aston Villa last season as they lost to Fulham in the Championship play-off final © AFP/File / Ian KINGTONLONDON, United Kingdom, Oct 7 – Former England captain John Terry announced his retirement from football on Sunday with the 37-year-old central defender now set to pursue a career in management.Terry, who spent the bulk of his career with Chelsea, captained second-tier Aston Villa last season.last_img read more

What an MLB source said about the Dbacks trade h

first_img What an MLB source said about the D-backs’ trade haul for Greinke if the seahawks actually seek to trade tarvaris jackson, i can tell you one place he definitely would be welcomed by players: arizona.— Jim Trotter (@SI_JimTrotter) August 15, 2012 Top Stories D-backs president Derrick Hall: Franchise ‘still focused on Arizona’ Jackson, 29, has had a solid-but-unspectacular career since being taken in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. He’s completed 59.4 percent of his passes and thrown 38 touchdowns against 35 interceptions, tallying a QB rating of 77.7 in the process. At any rate, while Jackson wouldn’t necessarily be a bad option for the Cardinals, it’s hard to see the Seahawks being amenable to the idea of trading him within the NFC West. Besides, as of now the Cardinals have four QBs on the roster, and adding someone like Jackson would likely mean parting with someone like Kolb. And as bad as things seem now, it’s a little tough to see that happening. Comments   Share   Nevada officials reach out to D-backs on potential relocation The Arizona Cardinals do not yet have a starting quarterback, which leaves room for people to speculate who should get the job. With Kevin Kolb and John Skelton in the midst of a battle of mediocrity, some feel like the team may look elsewhere for an answer at the position. One of the QBs supposedly on the trade block is Tarvaris Jackson, who is currently with the Seattle Seahawks. Would he be a good fit in Arizona? Hard to say, but according to Sports Illustrated’s Jim Trotter players on the Cardinals players wouldn’t be opposed to bringing him in.
